St Mary’s highly values pursuits of academic excellence. Teachers are committed to assisting all students to reach their academic potential through a range of academic endeavours both inside and outside the classroom.

These include activities where children from St Mary’s can interact with students from other schools such as, Upper Hunter Youth Council, Kia-Ora Music Camp, Upper Hunter Beef Bonanza, Horse Sports competitions, Science and Engineering Challenge, Tournament of the Minds competition, Maths Olympiad competitions, Regional and Diocesan Public Speaking Debating competitions and Regional Spelling and Maths Bee competitions.

During lunch time, students have the opportunity to participate in various clubs including dance, coding and gardening. They also participate in Student Representative Meetings, Mini Vinnies meetings and music lessons. All of these endeavours, in addition to many others, enhance the academic potential of our students.
